Mine data, working
as hard as the fleet.

BCM Mining Technology builds equipment health and telemetry platforms, live dashboards, enterprise GIS, data pipelines, automation, and AI monitoring for mining operations. Delivered in weeks, not quarters, by someone who has run mine control.

Measured, from systems in production.

Every figure below comes from a platform running on a producing operation. They describe what the systems do rather than what the operation produces, because a single site cannot be meaningfully anonymised and its production numbers are not ours to publish.

17,000
machine health events decoded and classified in a single week, from binary files nobody could previously read
60 sec
the interval at which every completed dump is re-checked against the block model and the destination rules, continuously, every shift
5%
the cycle time deviation the advisor detects, measured against a route's own baseline of 780 prior cycles
43
automated checks watching the platform itself, each one clickable through to how to fix what it found
9
platforms in production on one site server, from fleet telemetry to GIS to computer vision
$0
software licence fees across all of it, on unlimited internal users

One worth stating in full: an entire haul truck fleet was found to be ingesting empty, every counter zero, because its onboard files used an older Caterpillar format with no public documentation. Decoding it from sample files recovered the fleet's history and brought it into the same database as the rest. That is the kind of problem that stays invisible until somebody goes looking, and it is why the platform monitors its own data freshness.

Four capabilities. One delivery, not four vendors.

Most operations would split this work across a GIS developer, a data engineer, a BI developer, and an AI vendor. BCM delivers all four with the operational context of someone who has run mine dispatch, built custom Python programs, automated daily workflows, and trained the people who use the systems every shift.

01 · Automation

Automation & Alerting

Event-driven workflows that watch your operation and act: Teams and email alerts for extended delays, equipment down events, crusher feed interruptions, and production shortfalls.

  • Teams and email notification engines
  • End-of-shift and daily report automation
  • API integrations between site systems
02 · GIS & Mapping

GIS & Spatial Intelligence

Enterprise GIS stacks built on QGIS, GeoServer, and PostGIS with real-time equipment tracking, current orthomosaics, CAD overlays, and mobile field tools.

  • Live equipment tracking and web mine maps
  • Drone and orthomosaic processing pipelines
  • QField mobile mapping for field crews
03 · Data & Analytics

Dashboards & Data Warehousing

ETL pipelines that consolidate fleet, historian, survey, and GPS data into a governed SQL warehouse feeding dashboards that operations teams actually use.

  • Production vs. plan, payload and cycle analysis
  • Fleet health from decoded OEM telemetry
  • Delay breakdowns and equipment utilization
  • Automated shift, daily and month-to-date reporting
04 · AI & Inference

AI On Site Infrastructure

Inference that runs on your own hardware rather than a vendor cloud: live camera pipelines, and advisories that compare every route, machine and face against its own operating history.

  • Baseline advisories across routes, machines and faces
  • Camera inference in production on crusher and yard feeds, with event logging
  • Local language models on site GPUs, nothing leaving the property
  • Tooth, shroud and fragmentation detection, in development

Real screens from real shifts.

Not mockups. These systems run a producing operation today: a live fleet map over a fresh orthomosaic, a shift dashboard the control room keeps open all day, and alerts that land in Teams while there is still time to act. Misrouted dumps are caught the moment they happen, and meal-delay compliance is summarized for supervisors at end of shift.

Live mine operations map with equipment positions, trails, and design overlays
Shift production dashboard: pace versus plan, queue analysis, loading tool performance, fleet up/down board, and per-operator production
Teams alerts from site automation: misrouted dump detections with truck, operator, payload and destination, and an end-of-shift meal delay compliance summary

Screenshots from production systems. Site identifiers, serial numbers, and personnel details have been altered.

A running instance of all four platforms, around the clock, on a synthetic mine: SIC · This Shift, the Live Mine Map, the 3D Digital Twin, and the Dashboard Map. No form, no account. The data is made up, because our clients' data never leaves their site. That is the same promise you would get.

You own your data. It runs on your iron. No licence fee.

Most mining software charges you rent for permission to use it, then keeps your data on the wrong side of the login. BCM works the other way around. The tooling is open source, so there is no licence to buy and no per-seat cost. What you subscribe to is the capability: the platform run, monitored, and continuously fitted to the operation as the pit, the fleet, and the reporting change. Your data is yours unconditionally and it never leaves your servers.

Data

Your Data Never Leaves Site

Every byte of operational data, every database, and every report lives on your infrastructure and belongs unconditionally to your operation. Nothing is uploaded to a vendor cloud. Nothing is metered.

Cost

No Software Licence Fee

The tooling is open source, so there is nothing to license and no per-seat charge. Unlimited users at your site. The subscription is not a maintenance add-on bolted to a finished product, it is the product: an operated platform that keeps pace with the operation instead of ageing from the day it lands.

Architecture

On-Site By Design

The full stack runs on a single on-premise server on commodity hardware. No cloud dependency, no phone-home licensing, and everything keeps working when the internet link does not.

Independence

Dealer & Vendor Independent

Integrates read-only with Cat Minestar, Wenco, Hexagon Jigsaw, and OEM telemetry without disturbing them, and without asking anyone's permission to look at your own data.

Production systems, not slide decks.

Seven platforms with a full write-up, each running on a producing operation today. Every one started as a problem somebody brought to the dispatch office.

Equipment Health & VIMS Telemetry

Two Caterpillar binary formats decoded into a site-owned database: classified events, per-machine dashboards, operator attribution, and full replay of any machine for any hour.

Assess. Build. Run.

1

Assess

A focused review of how your operation captures, moves, and uses data across fleet systems, historian data, GIS, reporting, and daily workflows. 25 percent of any assessment fee is credited against a build engaged within six months.

How assessments work →
2

Build

Fixed-scope platform builds delivered in weeks. Dashboards, GIS, warehousing, automation, and AI monitoring deployed on practical site infrastructure.

3

Run

A monthly subscription keeps the platform running, monitored, patched, and improving as the operation changes. It is the ongoing capability, not an add-on.

Senior specialist-led delivery, run like infrastructure.

Senior specialist-led delivery is why a platform reaches production in weeks rather than quarters, and it is a fair thing for a maintenance planner or IT manager to ask about before signing a recurring commitment. The answer is not that your team could run it alone. It is that an interruption is never an outage: the platform has no licence check and no vendor callback, source sits in escrow against defined triggers, and response windows, escalation and exit terms are written into every agreement rather than offered as reassurance.

Built from the dispatch chair.

BCM Mining Technology was founded by Bernard Carl Mathew, a mining professional with twenty years in mining operations who has worked everywhere from the leach plant to running the fleet management system. Along the way that has meant surveying, drill and blast design, mine planning support, production reporting, dispatch, GIS, automation, and operational technology at a producing gold mine in Timmins, Ontario.

That operational background changes how technology gets built. Every dashboard, map, automation, and AI solution is designed around the challenges faced by dispatchers, supervisors, engineers, and operations teams every day. Rather than creating software that simply looks impressive in a demonstration, BCM develops practical systems that improve decision-making, eliminate manual work, increase operational visibility, and deliver measurable value in the field.

Technology is most valuable when it solves real operational problems. Every solution we develop begins with the workflow, not the software.
